The NIPHC Food Program Subcommittee of the Environmental Health Committee provides a forum for local health departments to compare and evaluate food program approaches and identify potential region-wide consistency in food program activities. Providing an opportunity to review each others' approaches to food programs encourages more standardization, consistency, and more unified movement toward implementing best practices.
- Collecting and comparing data from local health departments in areas such as cottage food operations, supplemental grilling permits, and mobile food vendor permits
- Current focus on shared kitchens and temporary food events- identifying potential areas of regional collaboration
